In 1095, the Sufi scholar Al Ghazali underwent a spiritual change, which made him leave his promising career in the center of possibilities in Baghdad. Although many people would desire to be in his position, and declare him crazy for leaving, he still left. Because there was something more important and beautiful he was after, instead of all the fortune, status and fame. Shortly after, he abandoned his wealthy lifestyle and he started to live an ascetic life. Confronting his understanding of spirituality, he was in search of a more practical approach of his theories.
In the footsteps of Al Ghazali, we will travel to find answers to our soulful questions, while being a mirror to each other. We believe that it is essential to feed the soul. As much as we have to feed our bodies with food, we have to check if we are soulfully fed with knowledge (ilm). Or are we running on empty?
